Marquis Who’s Who is proud to honor its most distinguished listees based on their career longevity, philanthropic endeavors and lasting contributions to society. Out of 1.5 million biographees, only a small percentage are selected for the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Richard L. Rosen marks his 30th Anniversary in “Who’s Who in America”
Richard has been recognized for his outstanding record of achievement of inclusion in 30 editions of “Who’s Who in America®”. The firm congratulates him on this historic and impressive milestone.
John A. Karol is Made a Partner of the Firm!
Effective August 1, 2014, John Karol, an Associate of The Richard L. Rosen Law Firm, PLLC, was made a partner of the firm. Over the past four years, John has litigated and negotiated a wide variety of commercial and franchise matters and disputes in addition to maintaining his prior employment law and litigation practice.
Prior to joining The Richard L. Rosen Law Firm, PLLC in 2010 as an Associate, Mr. Karol worked at the firms of Liddle & Robinson, L.L.P. (2002-2006); Thompson Wigdor & Gilly LLP (2006-2007), and Michael Faillace & Assoc., P.C. (2007-2010).
John is experienced in franchise related matters and has successfully litigated and arbitrated complex franchise and commercial issues on behalf of both franchisees and franchisors. John has also successfully represented clients in defending trademark and Lanham Act claims, and in domain-name disputes in UDRP proceedings. He continues to represent individuals in the financial services industry in a wide variety of securities, regulatory, contract and employment matters in both federal and state courts, as well as in arbitrations before FINRA. He has negotiated numerous complex commercial separation agreements and compensation agreements for both employees and management, and has served as “class counsel” in several federal employment-related litigations. John has also advised small and large business entities, including “Fortune 500” companies, on various employment matters, such as drafting employment manuals and policy manuals. John has substantial experience litigating federal class actions and “collective actions” under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) on behalf of classes of wage and hour plaintiff classes. In addition to his experience in state and federal court, Mr. Karol has also practiced in numerous Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) forums, including the AAA and JAMS. John is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Speaking Engagements
On January 9, 2009, Richard participated as a panelist (along with Julie Bennett of The Franchise Times and Eric Stites of Franchise Business Review),
during the International Franchise Association (IFA) sponsored Franchise Expo South at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Florida. The topic of discussion was “10 Things No One Tells You When You’re Shopping For A Franchise.” Richard and his co-panelists had previously presented discussions on this topic at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. on April 11, 2008. On March 20, 2009, Richard, Eric and Nancy Weingarten, editor of the Franchise Times, repeated this popular presentation at the International Franchise Expo held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Richard L. Rosen Honored With Lifetime Achievement Award On May 5, 2008, Richard was honored by the American Association of Franchisees and Dealers (AAFD) during its 16th Annual Conference held in Newport New, Virginia when he was presented with its Total Quality Franchising Award for Lifetime Achievement. Richard is only the third attorney (the late Harold Brown and Michael Dady being the others) to receive this prestigious award. (For more information, click here.)
